Mills Products Secures First Military Project

Posted on: 10-18-2012

Metal fabricator Mills Products (Brentwood, TN) recently worked on its first military project, providing a crucial part for a communications headset developed by an equipment supplier that regularly works with the US Air Force, Army, and Marine Special Operations Commands, as well as NATO Special Forces.

The equipment supplier had come to Mills looking for a cost-effective way to manufacture relatively low volumes of a specialized arm to hold a microphone on a communications headset that needed to meet the demanding specifications required for equipment used in combat situations. Mills recommended aluminum extrusion, winning the bid and helping to develop the next generation of in-the-field communications devices designed for extreme noise environments.

“We’re proud to have been a part of creating a device that contributes to the safety of our service members,” says Darrell Adcock, president of Mills Products. “We enjoyed working with our customer to find the right metal manufacturing technique to suit their needs. We hope to do more projects like this in the future.”
